Ah, yes. We've finally arrived at the end of the arbitrarily set time interval. Take a look over here.

We've published a TSS preview page on the CG site with the teaser trailer, some PR text, and screenshots of some of the features shown in the trailer and on the forum.

The new page looks great! Is that a new conquer token graphic in the construct screenshot, or is it something else?

On the CG homepage it says 'sixth major title', but on the TSS page it says' fifth major title'.

The last paragraph says to look out for a demo in the upcoming months. Does that mean you're going to release that earlier, or is this an error?

Looks great! Can't wait to play in the World Map.

Btw, the video is not working for me (Chrome/Firefox in Windows). Only a black rectangle appears and if I click it says "An error occurred. Please try again later."

There's a space where one shouldn't be in the video link URL.

Good eye. Yes, we have updated graphics for the conquer token, and all of the other tokens, in fact. It's about time. Alex is doing an awesome job.
On the CG homepage it says 'sixth major title', but on the TSS page it says' fifth major title'.
Note there's a subtle difference in the wording. They are both right.
The last paragraph says to look out for a demo in the upcoming months. Does that mean you're going to release that earlier, or is this an error?
It's not an error, but we won't necessarily be releasing a demo earlier than the full release.

Ah yes, you're quite right, although it might not be obvious to everyone that 'DROD RPG' is in fact not considered an installment in the 'DROD Series'.

I don't want to cause confusion, so I'll just rephrase one of these.

I think I've fixed the video URL.

"An all-new 60-minute soundtrack composed by synthpop artist Jon Sonnenberg of Travelogue."

Cool! But what about...

Is the JtRH music still going to be brought back?

Yes, sir! Maybe I should say something more clear and impressive-sounding like "This game has over four hours of music!"

Well that certainly sounds like good news! (if you're implying what I think you're implying)

Ok, that is awesome. I loved the music in TCB (especially the one that often plays with the tarstuff rooms that has the really repetitive part and the kinda creepy part in the middle) I am really glad that there is going to be MORE!!! And for some reason, when I see the Gentryii, i think of some sort of really evil Chain Chomp.... maybe its just me :huh
EDIT: ok, maybe I should look at the other page more often. CLEARLY I am not the only one thinking that haha.

Here's what the latest 0.25% on the progress bar represents:

Now scripts can access new predefined x/y vars, representing the origin coordinates of the custom room image (and overhead image). When a script modifies these variables, the custom image will be redrawn with respect to the new origin coordinates.

What this means is that the engine now supports some basic large-scale animations, i.e., turn-based frame advancement for an arbitrary room area.

For instance, you could have on/off states for large objects. Say, a 4x4 machine could be rendered from a source 4x8 image depicting the two states. The "window" you see the image through would be the 4x4 area of the room with custom floor/wall/pit image tiles.

You could also display an animation "in real time" if a scripted cutscene is playing and advancing the frames automatically.

And I was sure it had to do with tacos.

In other news I had fajitas for dinner and they were everything I wanted and more.

I noticed the product page for TSS says "Over 500 puzzle rooms and 30 levels, each organized around a different type of puzzle element."

TCB is technically 500+ rooms, but the page still says "over 350." Is the TSS page just counting differently, or is TSS really that much bigger?

Good observation. We've kept the original "25 levels and 350 rooms" as the baseline for the expected amount of content for each new release, but we realize that in actuality each official hold is closer to around 400-500 rooms.

But, your suspicion is correct in this case -- the TSS hold is actually going to be that much bigger. We have most of the content already done, but I estimate we still have at least 5 more levels yet to create as we glue it all together.
