Wanted to do my second playthrough of DROD without hints at all, so I made this map of level 13 to make the dungeon crawling less torturous. Hope this helps anyone stuck on the maze.

Because looking at that map clears everything right up... oh wait, no it doesn't... it merely reminds me why there's a warp room on level 12, and why I will use it yet again.

Thanks, for the good effort and the valiant spirit, but lordy, that's some ugly intimidating maze. I imagine it might not seem quite so bad if I could have figured out how to resize it to a decent size

I always wondered what 2N2W looked like...

I found it simpler to do a hand drawing, where I didn't include all the twists and turns the passages took. Easier to look at and see where I had to go. Just my $.02

This is as good a place as any to post a reminder that I have a map of level 13 with the solution clearly marked, and I will send the URL to it to anyone who PMs me about it.

Just in case anyone came into this thread looking for hints.

And Abdul - cool map! I tried doing that myself but quickly gave up and ended up going another route (copying the map sections from the restore screen) when I was making mine... Mine, IMO, is much clearer, but your sure looks more interesting.

OK - why can everyone else see the map when I can't?

I click on it and I get the usual Open/Save dialog box. Choose Open, the meter whizzes up to 99% and then I get an error "Access to specified file is denied." Anyone help me out here? It's happened on some other attachments here as well, but not all of them.

I'm using Firefox 9.1 and I can see it fine.

The image is in the PGN format. It can't be viewed by some older MS software. Try firefox at http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

I did the same kind of thing when I encountered level 13. I'm playing Caravel DROD 2.0.9 and KDD 2.0, so the graphics are a bit different.

The map is a bit different, too. But not in ways that affect the solution. (In the original KDD, 2N2W is impossible to enter)

I am greatly impressed with the number of people who have solved this MAZE and were kind enough to post a diagram of the solution. I am afraid that I am not a maze perosn especially when you have to go through a "breakable wall" to find the end.

My hat is off to you genuses :bond ... only Bond could have solved this one. The first room in the last 37 that I have had to "look for the total solution".

Well, those maps are good, but they are so unnecessarily large. Here's my much smaller solution map, made from the mini-map.

Or, if you just want a HINT, you could do something similar to what I did: Wander around a bit, then go to the Restore screen. Select the Entrance room, then press Print Screen to take a screen shot, and paste it into Paint. Zoom in on the mini-map. Then pick a bright color and paint a passage that goes to a room that you haven't explored yet. If the color hits a "crossover" or an open door or something, paint the other side of it. (Note: open doors do not show up on the mini-map in Architect's Edition.) Once the color hits the edge of the entrance room, you'll see how to get to the unexplored room from the entrance.
If for some reason you are lost and have trouble getting back to the entrance, you could just paint the passage you are in. Or better yet, mark your location in the passage with a dot of color, then paint on both sides of the dot with different colors.

Once you have explored a few new rooms, take another screenshot at the Restore screen, and do some more painting. Repeat this process until you find the exit room.

I made my solution map by painting paths in different colors and then using white to paint away the dead ends.

Hey guys,
now I do now this is a pretty old one. Anyway I thought I could make a map about this unpleasant level as well, which on the other hand also features the path to the Top Left Room (needed for 100% and most of the times not entered by accident).
