Well, the most similar puzzle game to DROD would be Wonderquest, since it was inspired by and based on DROD... it has its own forum right here, so take a look! It does add alot of new things, including multiple player characters with diffrent weapons, and pushable and moving items.

There are many good suggestions in the Other Good Puzzle Games thread.

I'm going to piggyback a question on this thread 'cos it's relevant... A long time ago, I came across a flash game that seemed, to me, to be essentially DROD in realtime. I never got to finish it (it was a little buggy, honestly), but I'd like to go back and do so anyways, now. I don't suppose anyone's got any idea what that was?

I'd suggest Professor Fizzwizzle.

Would it happen to be the "Trapped" games? Google it!

no... the one I was playing had the character (who I seem to remember as being nothing more than a colored circle, either in blue or green) carrying around a sword that you could rotate to stab things. And what I'm finding when I google 'Trapped' seems to be a room escape game and a maze-game with that title but no swords... Not the game I'm looking for.

I think I remember the game Hikari was talking about - it was mentioned on here quite a long time ago. If I remember correctly, it was a flash game, if you were touched by a bad guy your sword shrunk until it ran out; there was something you could get to make your sword longer.. various little bug things that tried to avoid your sword.. that the one you're thinking of?

Not that I can help with finding it.. have tried searching the boards, can't find it yet.

[edit] Ahha! Were you thinking of this? http://www.i-am-bored.com/bored_link.cfm?link_id=15372

Ahhh, Dot Wars! Quite addictive actually, I finished it a long time ago after 1158 deaths, and while skipping almost each and every room on the final level. Could be better, but it's still fun.

Please disregard Remisc's post, that game is not Drod-like at all. If anything, it's Subterra-like.

Sorry about that, I've deleted my post. Just thought it could have interest, and did not know how close to drod-like it should be.

Just because it's not drod-like doesn't mean it's not worth playing, but perhaps you can make your own thread instead.

And if it's Subterra-like, you can always try to post it on the Subterra board.
