I like how the game that Erik codenamed "Frogs and Mice" in the General board is actually called "Frogs and Mice".
This is what we should expect from Erik: flawless consistency at its most flawlessly consistent.

I'm pretty sure it will cost, much like the DROD series.

Is that possible to purchase all holds in group?
There may be a lower price.

This will be a totally separate game aimed more towards "non-hardcore DROD-type players".

Frogs and Mice is absolutely not intended for hardcore DROD players - indeed, some of you may find it a tad pedestrian. That said, we're envisaging a lot of you will want to take a look anyway for your children or significant others.

By the way, am I correct to assume that TCB is not yet officially released (and by that I mean advertising and cd packs), because of Frogs and Mice?

And by that, I mean because Caravel don't want Frogs and Mice, which is intended for younger audience, to be associated with a recently released game that isn't?

Is the current plan releasing F&M, waiting about a month for the hype to die out (haha), then officially releasing TCB?

considering that F&M is only 15% done, I think it will be the other way around.

No, it is because the CDs aren't done and I haven't written the press release yet. Frogs and Mice doesn't have anything to do with it, and honestly it's far better strategy to already have TCB out there in case someone plays Frogs and Mice and thinks, "you know what, I like this game, but I'd like it to be harder and set in a fantasy dystopia".

Sheesh. Game isn't even out yet and it's already being treated like an unwanted stepchild by the fans. :P

I, personally, am looking forward to it, and not just because it means the DROD engine gets updated with new features.
/me patiently waits for beta acceptance email

Hey, I've just got out of my rock and found out about that 'Frogs & Mice' thing. That might be the game to get my sis into DROD... she sorta likes the basic idea behind DROD, but not the feel of the game. Now, could someone please knock on my rock when the game is released?

I don't give anything about the looks of it, as long as there's a level editor, I won't hate the game.

Strange place to necro (unless you're slow to read emails, I guess :)) but I'd expect the answers to be "Yes", and "No, or at least not until and unless a beta version is released before the official one, a la TCB." Given that it's going to have a slightly different release model than Caravel's own internal one (or at least that's my understanding), I wouldn't bank on that last part.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that Frogs and Mice is finished. The only recent reference I've seen about it was in this post from Erik. The phrase "the work performed by the F&M team won't be wasted" doesn't mean the work is complete; it might refer only to work done to date. From what Erik said, mrimer is the one who can tell you what F&M's status is.

I got the idea because it said 100% at one point.

The posts above yours were referring to Frogs and Mice, so I thought that's what you were asking about. The bar shows progress (currently at 99.2%) on DROD RPG, a different project. I guess the bar got ahead of itself if it said 100%. Don't worry: I'm pretty sure that once DROD RPG is ready, they'll be an appropriately obvious announcement with information on how to get it.

F&M reached 50% on its latest bar update. If it was at 100% at some point, like Noma said, it was entirely unintentional.
