As any bug hobbyist knows, a killing jar is used to "prepare" bugs so they can be pinned down and put on display. Well, Beethro's got a giant pin in his hands and is ready to add more bugs to his ever-growing collection. Nothing but roaches, queens and a few brains to be found on this level and only a few little puzzles to get in the way of all that carnage.

Sound's simple right? Enjoy...

Not a difficult hold, but that's just fine. Sometimes we need a break from the really hard stuff. I would recommend this hold to someone who was having trouble with Dugan's, except for the presence of brains. But you have to learn at some time, right?

Game on,

I enjoyed this hold. There are a couple nifty little level designs, and a few old chestnuts revisited pretty well. It's certainly a nice diversion from level 23 of Dugan's...

Conquered! (even the, heh, "reward")

I must admit, this is a really fun hold. It has the kind of puzzles that make you think, but not for too long. It also has action, which is excellent. I felt almost like I was dreaming; a good thing in this case.

Still, this hold is not entirely perfect. Rooms like Once North could definitely use some checkpoints, since a single mistake can easily force the player to restart. Other rooms, like the "reward" room, could have used checkpoints in better places, since, again, it was easy to make a mistake and be forced to erase over fifty moves.

Despite the negative aspects of this hold, I still believe it to be very well-formed and an excellent example of excellent architecture.

So,
8 for fun
3.5 for brains

A classic for the ages, certainly!

Why you would be playing this instead of the corresponding level of HIJK I'm not really sure.

Because it's there? :)

I've yet to make any headway in this hold as I've been focused on optimising it which is not easy...

Decent, short hold. I enjoyed playing through it but agree that there were definitely a lack of checkpoints. This is mostly hoard management types of puzzles but nothing overwhelming or too difficult so quite fun in my mind.
