Quite frankly, I'm getting sick of it. All these animated GIFs that refuse to move . . .

I use and and nobody gets whacked! There's just some angry dudes and some dudes staring into space. Why? WAAAHHH!!!!

EDIT: I remember hearing that some "[Insert word here] Accelerator" is the cause. But I don't know how to deactivate it (or, quite frankly, why anyone would want it to be activated in the first place).

I would guess, then, that you have a slow internets, and you have some caching/compression software to improve your speed. But that doesn't really explain why the pics don't move.

I don't think we have slow internet.

I could see animated GIFs until I upgraded to Windows Internet Explorer 7, which was a day before I came here (which is why I initially did not know they moved). When I upgraded, stuff no longer moved.

Oddly enough, I stopped being able to see them in other browsers, as well. As in, upgrading Internet Explorer affected Firefox!

So, in IE7, anyways, there is a checkbox for this. Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced -> Play animations in Webpages (about half-way down, under the "Multimedia" section). This still doesn't explain why animations don't display in Firefox, but there's likely a similar option there.

Yup.

Also, make sure you're not using any proxies that advertise speeding up your load times, as those usually mess with images. Or rather, don't use a proxy at all unless you need or mean to.

So exactly what browser are you using? (That would usually be the very first thing to mention - exactly what *IS* your "stupid browser"? Please, help us help you a bit...)

Well, I guess I never went out and said it, but I'm using Internet Explorer 7. Strange, I remember saying it, though.

EDIT: Oh, yeah. I'm thinking of another topic. I kind of implied it in a post I made in the "posting smilies moves the text box to the top" topic. But even then, I didn't explicitly say it.

I'm afraid I can't help you then - animated GIFs work fine in IE7 for me, unless I specifically disable them... not that I ever use IE for anything than Microsoft Update, though.

Well, I'm pretty sure it's not browser related.

Firefox doesn't work.

Nope, not normal Mozilla, either.

Not AOL.

And that's all the browsers I have.

I wonder if my Wii can show them? But it's not worth the trouble even if it can.
