Correct. At one point, the Pooka traps you in the fog, and gives you a riddle, picked randomly from several.

Another one is "What is broken / when its name is spoken?"

Spoiler alert:

After the beggar steals the flute, I can't follow him into the ship. I see his footprints in the sand, but clicking on the ship only brings the old message. Help?! Thanks in advance :)

Hello all!
I'm new here.... I got the game a few days ago and have been playing it continuously, It's a really awesome game!!! :thumbsup

I have a question, I saw someone say something about a cutscene of the Jeweler at the castle, may I ask what information I missed there? Does it have any hints as to whom is the murderer?
right now I'm trying to figure out who the murderer is so i can get 8 honor instead of just 3 :P

I wanna say I really love this game! You did an awesome job making it! and thanks :D

Tc :)

icon Assassin problems (0)
Thinking back on how fabulous this game was, I just re-downloaded it and started playing again. I can't seem to get the assassin thing right, though, and it's driving me crazy.

I swear I have the right person, and I've tried all the possible motivations (though I thought I knew which one of those was correct too), but Nimwe keeps telling me I don't know the whole truth. I have four items I believe are relevant, but she only accepts three; am I giving her the wrong combination? Or is/are there some conversation(s) I missed that I need to have had with someone prior to this point in the game for her to accept my accusation? I cannot believe I'm accusing the wrong person, seriously; what do I need to have done for this to work?

Maybe you are accusing the wrong person?

If you've tried all motivations for the person and she accepts 3 items, there's really no other answer.

I figured it out, but thanks! (I did indeed have the wrong combination of evidence, which looking more closely at all of the items showed me)

Yeah, this thread functions as the general discussion/help thread for AToTK. You could always make a separate thread if you really wanted to, but where ever is good.

It sucks playing a character who's so dumb, he won't even take the time to grab an item that protects him from all danger.

They're basically just two types of score, with the names "honor" and "wisdom" being a big hint as to the sort of thing you need to be doing to maximize that score.

An example of both:

Honor - Returning a borrowed item.
Wisdom - Completing a puzzle.

Of course, there are many many more examples of each in the game.

I'm assuming you didn't get the rope in Chapter 1 (you really should), since that gives you a suboptimal but obvious and easy solution. There is one more item you should find in your room. Whether you don't go get the rope, or do but want to not use it, you have all the items you need but are missing how to do it.

Here's another hint if you want it:

I figured it out before I read this (the H&S effect applies here too!) but I am out of the castle and didn't get the rope or other object from my room. I clicked on everything there and the only thing I could pick up was the pillows. And if you try to get the rope (it's in the barracks, right?) it says "You didn't come to Theylinn to practice your knot-tying skills".

Thanks, though, for your help, and thanks to Radiant and the others at Crystal Shard for this great game!

I can't believe that this is a scripting error - then everyone would receive it. I can't believe its a bug in AGS, for the same reason. Not sure what that leaves though...

I spoke to the Queen and named the right villain, went to the castle, got in, showed the gem, they were about the arrest the villain and...

************************************
I can't just link the to screen shot of the error, I have to type the error manually?!?!
************************************

An internal error has occurred. Please note down the following information. If the problem persists, contact Chris Jones.\

(ACI Version 2.72.920)

Error: Run_text_script1: error -6 running function "on_call":
Error: Script appears to be hung (150001 while loop interations without an update) in Room 81 script (line 41)

Happened several times - even when I started over from the beginning.

You can't link because you are a nub and we had a spam problem once. You need two more rank points. Here, I'll give you one for the bug report.

Thanks for the point. :)

As for the why.... I get it. I understand it. But I reported the error to AGS forum (the game engine for Tale of Two Kingdoms) and they shot it down as a scripting error. :? Which means post to the game thread. Except the game hadn't been commented on in over a year, so I couldn't post there either. So being shot down on the link was... irritating. Especially, when it seems unlikely that anyone's going to go back and edit a game released in July of 2007. :no

Anyhow, I felt compelled to help out.

Thanks,
Cogliostro

What, you can't throw down a pair of bold tags or something so the link isn't parsed?
