Welcome to Compass Point, the southernmost island of the Eighth! Before you and your sightseeing group venture further, we must warn you that we are currently experiencing an infestation. We'd clear it out ourselves, but the frigid cold seems to prevent us from being able to turn around, making the chore that much more dangerous. Worry not, an expert smitemaster has been summoned, and we will be returning to regular business hours shortly. Enjoy your stay!

Compass Point is a short hold I created in the summer of 2006 that will infuriate somebody. No getting around that. Here's hoping you don't fall into that category.

Thanks for playing!

There's me thinking what a fun hold. Excellent easy rooms, and then came Quince South and suddenly I became infuriated :? I'm sure I'll work it out in a minute.

Edit : I think I have it under control. I think an ammendment to one of my initial ratings is necessary!

More holds like this please!

Steve.

Steve.

I'm with you here, so frustrating! But I love the idea. It really makes you think!

And mastered! I can't praise this highly enough. Excellent hold. Yeah, it's small, but if it had been any longer the praise might have turned to curses.

Thanks Ryan :thumbsup

A very nice little hold, with, as the architect says, a twist, and due to the small size of the hold, it was only slightly annoying to find out the twist only after visiting the secret room ;)

Yep, another great hold by RoboBob. Short, but brilliantly interesting. And the twist had me playing through the hold with a new way of thinking about it.

I was temporarily infuriated by this hold. But then I calmed myself down and enjoyed the whole experience.

Clever, clever puzzles.

I give the hold an 8, with 5.5 brains of difficulty.

Josh

Sweet, after a long drought, here is 3 holds in 2 days! This one has to be a great hold! Awesome job! I actually liked all the rooms! I will look forward to playing anything from you in the near (hopefully) future!

I gave it a 9 with 5.5 brains of difficulty!

Keep these holds coming!!!

Brilliant, but sadistic. Hmm... I'll mod it up.
9/10, 6 brains

What can I say but "Instant classic". Compass Point earns a spot olongside Fool's Errand for brilliance and originality.

Thanks Larry, Josh and Tim. Got it. Just knowing something's possible makes it worth hanging in there.

Edit: Have now mastered the hold and must agree with the group: great job! 9 for overall and a 6 for difficulty... or 6.5 if you're me. What a pleasure this was.

Excellent! I still have no idea what Fool's Errand is about (and no, I don't want to know until I find out for myself), but this has to be one of the most original holds I've ever played. A 3D puzzle on a 2D plane.

Great work!!

Great hold. I thought it was a tad too short actually, and the difficulty level waned towards the end. But other than that, GREAT!

Only just played this one on the recommendation of a friend.

Nice easy straightforward hold, and visually very appealing...

...then I got to the exit. RoboBob3000, you are an evil evil man, and I salute you! Wonderful twist to the hold, and adds so much value.

I thought that this was a nice, solid hold. Despite only having a few rooms, I liked how the 'twist' made me play through them again (I didn't really find it that frustrating, as the rooms were fairly easy, I'm good with manipulation). The concept was well executed, I'd love to see more holds like this and The Fool's Errand.
