Hmmm. Forget the "dust storm" metaphor for a moment. You can keep five items on your list. There isn't any clever way to get more than five items saved in one campsite.

Once the duststorm commences, everyone will be stuck at their campsites and prevented from exploring at other campsites. (Just like real Burning Man, by the way. ;) ) I will post here to let you know when the duststorm has begun and ended.

Can those with campsites leave theirs and come to Sancuary and help secure the animals after their sites are secured?

I'm not really sure how your idea would work, but basically, everybody should be considered at their own campsite during the dust storm. The duration of the dust storm in real life will just be however long it takes me to work out what the end results of the storm will be. I don't want the inventories changing around while I'm working on it.

It is fine to have people transfer items to their campsite from your's up until the storm starts. Lst's idea of putting items in containers is too exploitable. I want people to just pick 5 things to keep without a bunch of loopholes. Save up your creativity and resourcefulness for after the storm, I think. There will be a slight twist to it that I haven't explained.

Let me guess, the items don't get permanently blown away, they just go to another campsite!

All explorers return hastily to their campsites as the dust storm closes in. Yep, best to get under cover before you get hit by a flying cow. It's nasty out there.

Campsite and explorer topics are purposefully locked for the duration of the storm. I'll let you know when it subsides.

Since I have ropes as one of my items, can I say that I used the ropes to tie the other stuff down and keep the ropes as well? :)

I know; I have been reading the thread. It was meant more of a joke than anything.

Besides, it sorta makes sense that since we are expected to "tie down" our items, we would have what we tied it down -with- once the storm passes.

If I had chosen to keep my ropes...using ropes to tie down themselves? That's a bit weird... :P

The dust storm subsided and you all come out of your tents. Oh, the devastation! Oh, the chaos! Some items are gone forever. (Somehow Bunches' entire city blew away.) Some items are slightly changed. And nearly everything has been redistributed randomly, so that what used to be yours now belongs to somebody else. Possibly, you can persuade them to give it back to you, but they don't don't have to if they don't want to. On the bright side, every campsite owner now has a fresh inventory of items from which to rebuild a new campsite.

The topics have been unlocked and everything is back to normal. Exploration and campsite updates are now possible. My apologies to anyone who feels this destructive event has been overly harsh--I'm trying to see how creative people will be when given random materials.

Amazingly I can still do almost everything I could before. I still have virtual reality, and I still have keychains, and the two neccasary items that got blown away got replaced with another one that someone else brought! :lol

Ok, this is one hell of a strage dust-storm, but anyway.
Here is all the stuff that I have collected

2 tons of fully evaporated dry ice
1 very large tent
50 Wii controllers
200 Solar Panels
a good quality CD system
1 realy pissed off secret service agent
100 safari type beds/lounges
11 Whopper Jrs w/ cheese
1 C++ programing book.
an all-in-one scanner/printer/fax machine connected to the laptop
100 pens
48 rolls toilet paper
99 pieces of soap
25 black marble spoons

And here is the stuff that I really don't need at all.
a wooden aromatherapy chest with the standard 24 oils.
5 very large glass bowls
100 Push-carts
6 tins of red paint
1 smooth, metal plate

Oh, and while I'm at it, who got my CD of soft music?

Anyone interested in trading for some of the following, which I can do nothing at all with? :) (I assume this is allowed...)

90 Office chairs
5000 pounds of mortar.
3 tables
10 premade authentic looking treasure chests with nothing inside of them
5 sets of tarot cards
1 Archery target

I suppose it could. ;) I'm not sure how much liberty one gets with these kind of things though...I wonder who it came from anyways?

By the way, most of the items are covered in ice cream since they fell into the lake, but I can clean that up. :)

I didn't even know the disaster happened...

I wasn't even able to GET to a computer on the 6th/until now

Can someone trade me back my Beethro costumes, Swords, (I guess I don't really need obstacles, I'll just put stuff there or something), Robotic foes, and if possible my energy storing devices...

Alright, I'm going to make a list of wat I remember:

Coppro:
You have my Beethro costumes

Lst6:
You have my computers

Jason:
You have my recharging stations

Someone Else:
My robotic Foe sets (I REALLY want this back)

The_Red_Hawk:
You've got my obstacles

Jamesdenem:
You have my Ice Cream Maker and my trapdoors

Schik:
Somehow, you have my Really Big Swords...

I thought the duststorm rearranged the inventories of those who actually have campsites...

I think thats it...

Ack. So much junk blew into my camp, making things rather crowded.

Tell you what - if anyone wants anything from my camp other than my potato or my snakes (which I've grown rather fond of in the time since they were given to me), just let me know and take it.

Otherwise, by this time tomorrow I'm throwing it all away.

Jason, I looked in your campsite topic for starred items, but there weren't any. You posted in this topic, but I didn't know to look there. To be honest, I really needed people to follow my instructions so that the task of changing everyone's inventory was managable.
