×This is a weird one. Unfortunately, shortly after I posted the original file, I noticed some room exploit that didn't force a certain thing in the no-grass challenged. So I changed that.
However, I must have changed something else and more critical in there, rendering 3 out of 4 of your demos for that room useless, in which you died in under 20 moves.

×As for your questions:
According to the one demo that did work, you stepped on the grass on move 2, but not on the checkpoint directly north of the scroll, so it didn't count.
That's my bad, now I specified the wording on the scroll to step on the checkpoint on turn 2.
I also wrote, as I should have, that for that challenge, the no-grass rule no longer applies, you can step wherever.
In terms of the soldier horn, yes, you are meant to spawn a soldier in the secluded pressure plate area. See the next secret text about that.
What I'm sure works, at least on my machine, is to drop the two trapdoors on the LEFT. Then, the soldier spawns "correctly" near the pressure plate.

×More worryingly still, the soldier horn is behaving in a weird way for me, soldier is able to appear at BOTH eastern entrances...
I have now posted about that behaviour to the bugs board
right here.
(I am not sure I found a bug, maybe I just don't fully understand how horns work.
It sure seems odd to me that I can influence the soldier appear spot with the trapdoors there...
)
EDIT:
Nuntar quickly answered my question in the bugs board. The shiny new version 3 is attached, with 1N1E now working properly (and, in my opinion, even better than before).
I also made another minor tweak to 1E.
EDIT 2:
Apparently, it is usual to change the hold file in the root post? It seems that way from what I could see in a few other threads.
