I have noticed that ALL Roaches like to watch the television. Could it be the colours? If so, then while the roaches are waiting for Beethro then they probably watch TV.

Roaches like to eat the insulation off the wires in TVs. Your roach just wants to make sure the TV doesn't get up and leave.
