In the attached hold, in 1E, pushing special command asks you if you want to kill the roach, and saying "ok" causes an "attack tile explosion" to kill the roach. But even though the roach is dead, the room won't register as clear until you leave the room and come back. This is extremely unusual behavior; usually a room either registers as clear and you leave and come back to find it still cleared, or it doesn't register as cleared, and you can leave and come back to find the monsters all back in place.

This won't happen if you remove the question part of the script and have just pushing special command blow up the roach.

This bug was discovered by GerAvos.

Alright, thanks for reporting it for me. Wasn't sure why this was happening.

So, uhm, because a certain entry in a certain contest is using this, I shall add something to it:

If you choose to kill the eye, undo then choose it again, the room can be cleared normally.

Fixed: PR

I also learned that questions are kinda broken - they allow executing no-move commands twice in the same turn and it's most likely too late to change (by about 15 years). There might be some weird and unexpected interactions still, so feel free to test it more thoroughly (exploding tar, long monsters, stuff like that).

Can confirm the attached example hold now clears the room correctly in 5.1.1.alpha.2020-10-16.
