That's the argument; I'm not a lawyer, nor a professional ethicist, so I can't tell you whether what they're doing is in fact in any way legal or moral. Whether golfrman did anything wrong by posting here is up to the moderators of the forum to decide (and, well, the community, by downmodding his post, if they like).

Here's an idea: instead of arguing about the legal minmaxing, how about we just say, "no thank you, not on this forum" and be done with it?

Besides, the whole thing goes against the spirit of the law: the holder of the copyright gets to decide how it's distributed.

I also do not want to discuss this, becuase there's also the issue of where you are. Linking to infringing material can, in some cases, be more than enough for a DCMA takedown notice in the USA. However, thepiratebay.org operates completely legally in Sweden.

Now, to redirect the topic back on topic...

I don't have a good link right now, unfortunately. But if I did, I'd put it here.
