The stuff on that website reminded me a lot of what's been come to be known as "

, at least among mathematicians and physicists. There's a book called
Mathematical Cranks, by Underwood Dudley, that collects a whole bunch of this sort of thing, though not all of it is quite so nuts (it ranges from someone claiming to have discovered a way to trisect an angle to outright megalomaniac ranting). I had found myself fascinated by this sort of behavior. If you are too (and know some basic math, nothing too fancy), you might want to give that book a read.
Edit: One of the reviews of that book on amazon mentioned
crank.net, which seems to be full of this kind of stuff.
