It's a hell of a lot worse, actually. TP would pause the game briefly 3-5 times each time you loaded the game. SS is likely to do it at least 10 times a session, and instead of just a dialogue box it will then open your item screen, give you five or so seconds to confirm what materials you have on hand, increase one of those numbers by one or two, linger for another five seconds and then finally close the windows one by one.

This was incredibly jarring when it happened

Yeah, I was surprised too, until Fi popped up and said she'd let me use my dowsing ability :/

Didn't matter though, I already knew of one I could use :)

Snacko: I agree that it would have been nice to do more in Skyloft but it was still far, far better than Twilight Princess where everyone you talked to seemed to have one line and they seemed to have no life. My favourite town was probably Clock Town in Majora's Mask though, helping out all those people at different times in the 3-day cycle was awesome, though I realize some hated it.
