Ha yes, you would have to double your score, twice as much as you've done on all the holds you've played, to move up 15 places. Whereas me, doubling my score (3200 points, one-tenth of your total points) takes me up 90 places or so.

It's times like this that I wish I'd chosen a different user name. Ominous threats just seem to lose all force when you say "dot" in the middle of the threatee.

Yikes! Apparently you can get lots of tied firsts on easy holds very quickly.

Now sitting pretty at 191. Was going to take out minimike98 next (187) but that's too close. Instead I'll focus my imaginary efforts on... The spitemaster (184) and Casebier (183).

My guess is that if you (or some of these others) were to re-activate their CaravelNet account and hit "Upload High Scores" that suddenly I'd be left far, far behind.

I think that very little difference would be made to the HS if everyone uploaded their non-Caravel scores - except just the 1 point gained per level.

Getting in the top 8 is generally hard work and without Caravel, even straightforward draws (so you have a score to beat) isn't always obvious...

I should have clarified. I don't think my own position would change much, but my relative position in to these arbitrary "competitors" would change, i.e., they would jump ahead and I would have to catch up again.

Could be wrong.
