I'm not sure I can help with so little information...

I just now requested a new key for myself, and it worked like normal, no problem. Are you sure you've got correct information in the other boxes on your Settings screen?

One of the problems with DROD, though, is it displays the red X icon when there are connection problems other than an invalid key. For example, here's a bug that silver reported for the RPG that may be active in TCB as well. If for whatever reason, your DROD computer can't find a connection to the CNet server, it might display the red X icon.

I don't really have any other information to give.

It worked last night, and doesn't work as of this morning. My connection is fine. I request keys via the link in my profile tab.

The only thing in drod.err is:
Assertion error in line 644 of .\DbDemos.cpp: "this->MembershipIDs.size() == wIDCount"
which shows up every time I exit the build screen or restore screen, and has for years so it's probably irrelevant.

I tried requesting a new key via email and that didn't work either.

Do you suspect it's either your key, or your DROD game that is corrupted?

If you think it's your key, then you can PM me your key (or someone else if you don't trust me), and I can check if I can log in as you.

On the other hand, did you install new software recently, like a new virusscanner?

I've tried using your name and the key you sent me, and what happened is that it waited for a long time before it decides to become invalid.

The key I've just requested for myself worked. If I used a random key for myself it said it was invalid immediately.

Looks like you really need a monkey to help you out on this.

It mysteriously works now. Hopefully whatever was wrong got fixed - a random occurrence could happen again.
