I would like to chime in here and say that the first point isn't necessary, and the second point... what? "Make the text blend in with the background"? No, one should make the text complement the background, so that it is visible while not being ugly.

I didn't mean that, I meant to make it with a colour scheme that looks nice with the background, or with a font that isn't completely strange for the background.

For example, on a brick wall, I would never use a comic-like font, but instead something like a "worn out" font, something that looks old and rusty.

Ah. That makes sense.

eb0ny, by no means should you stop posting here! I am enjoying your papercraft very much. It makes a good break from <ahem> desktop backgrounds.

I see. The fact that lessons aren't getting more interesting doesn't help either. Paper icosahedron (the shape made of twenty triangles):

Somehow I can't really make sense of the above - it's written "Das ist [das] deutsche Alphabet!" in German, but your image above disagrees with that... :|

I thought I'd post a shot of my long-term unfinished drawing of a decrepit old pickup truck; it's almost totally done freehand, although it's not original in that I was supposed to look at an existing smallish color photo and draw it on a much larger scale using only graphite pencils with no color. My instructor wanted us to try and capture a sense of the value (i.e., shading) of the photo and what it would look like if it were in black-and-white.

[Edit: I'll post a better shot of it again when the dang thing is complete, although the illustration board I'm using is approximately 2' x 2.5' (or 60cm x 76cm), so it's gonna take a while.]
:)

The thing is based on dodecahedron/icosahedron. Took 15 A4 sheets. Forgive me uneven edges, the thing is difficult to put together.

Renaming a file to png doesn't give you a png format :D

Here's the same file, but really converted to png. (Although I didn't do anything else.)

Important note: This is not my drawing. ;)

There is something very special about the picture I attached. I made it myself, and it was generated by a program I wrote in C (if anybody desires the source code, PM me), but that's not what makes it special. There is something else.

Of course, mere mortals would have extreme difficulty figuring out such an obscure thing, but I would like to see what kind of people I am dealing with. If I do not get a response / correct answer within a week, I will post the solution. But please try it if you have time.

I am not sure if this makes a good enough puzzle, so I posted it under 'Art'. I would like to know what you, dear reader, think about the clouds, since the original purpose was to write code that generates realistic-looking clouds. But then I got into a funny mood and added the other stuff too.

See, the problem with that is that we don't know what you think is special. For example, the wedges made by the black lines are not congruent, and neither are the lines themselves. There are two black lines in each quadrant except the one that is positive x and positive y. The blur between the red and the blue obscures all clouds in that ring. I am not a mind reader.
