That one was a toughy too. I don't have it in front of me right now, but I remember that it was actually not too hard to get the bottom one out, but you had to use it to get the top one out and that required a more delicate touch. Sorry for being so general but I can be more specific tomorrow.

Game on,

An excellent hold. Level 4, 2N was one of those where I entered, figured out what I needed to do, and then sat down and cried. It took a few restarts, but I finally got it.

Nice job!

Ack, I haven't gotten to 2N yet. This level is a real hair-puller. 1W still sits, lonely and unsolved--I will probably leave that for last. 2E was nice and fun (but somehow I actually got killed by the goblin when I figured it out and had to do it a second time :twak) but 1N2E just killed me. I was able to get to the end with one brain left over but discovered that it made the last part impossible, so I had to somehow manage to kill both brains. When I finally did it I couldn't believe that it happened so quickly. 1N1E was also kind of aggravating, only because I tried it several times but couldn't beat the serpent timer. Then when I came back to it I beat it on the second try. Now I'm on 2N1E and I'm going to put it aside for a while so I don't drop-kick my laptop. Judging by what Schik said, I don't think I want to see what's in 2N.

Game on,

Yeah, I felt much the same way about 2N as Schik did. It's a great room :)

Level 4

I found 2N a little bit easier than it first looked, which was impossible. I also found that I was unable to choose which monster would kill each snake and just had to take them as they came – fortunately it didn’t matter.

I’ll give one small hint:

1W is a delightful puzzle. I won’t spoil it by giving any hints except to say:

Is it just me, or is there a bug.

In L1, 2N 1W, I can see a Roach queen trapped in her own chamber near the Green door.

The problem is that the path of crumbly walls leading to her is blocked by a force arrow, and a green door blocks the eastern approach to the room, and since there doesn't appear to be a mimic in the room, I can't see any way of getting to the queen.

What am I missing?

Allright, finally beat Level 4! 2N I agree, was crazy...you beat it and then you sit back, amazed that it was even possible. 1W is one of those rooms where you have to just calmly eliminate possibilities until you hit on the correct solution. Every time I learned something more about how to beat the room until I just finished it.

Can't wait for more!

Game on,

Level 3

3N, 1E is perhaps the most frustrating room of the level. Extracting either the north or south wraithwing is easy enough but to clear the room I found that I needed to:

Well I have the wing out of the top but the bottom one keeps getting stuck on a force arrow. If I kill the one thats out I can get the bottom one to 1 below the exit arrows and if I don't kill it then the bottom one goes onto a horizontal arrow.

Heh, I always had more trouble getting the top one out without the bottom than the other way around. Perhaps you are forgetting that you can pull as well as push wraithwings?

Thanks for all the feedback. It's been very helpful. I've just finished the next version of the hold, which can be downloaded at the top of the thread.

The main change in this version is that there are five more levels, but I also made a few minor changes to the first four levels, and got rid of the unintended solution to level 3 3N1W that Oneiromancer pointed out. I also added a new room to first level just south of the entrance that contains a warp to level five, so that you won't have to play through the first four levels again. Enjoy the hold!

I hope I didn't make the last level too easy... :devil

I can't see how you do 7th 1W. No matter which side you enter you need 1 more move than you have available.

The last stairs lead back to the start of the last level. I don't know if it's intentional or because of that annoying bug.

I relly liked this hold, because it was just the right level of difficulty for me, good puzzles but I never got stuck for more than a day. I especially liked the way you made levels with no blue gate, but that still required every room to be completed.

Sorry about the stairs on the last level. Before uploading the hold, I noticed that they led back to the last level, and fixed them, but I guess they got changed back because of the bug. Are the stairs working for other people? Any ideas about what I should do about the stairs?

nice hold
on L1 1n, i used the mimic to kill the roaches ih the middle first, now i can't keep up with tar. Quess trick is do lower right tar first, keeping other tar columns under control before
i am shut out by tar too high in column.
tar is my weakspot and there is lots of running around to keep
tar columns from reaching top and being locked out
Rest of rooms will porbably blow me away. I gave up on original
drod on level 18, was too hard and insteadn of relaxing fun it
was more an ordeal and thus frustrating

Are you sure you're talking about the right room? Or the right hold? The last two posts don't seem to refer to the right rooms. Level 1 1N of my hold has no tar or mimic potion, and level 1 2W doesn't seem to fit Joker5's description. Am I missing something?
