icon Aumtlich & fuse interaction (+1)  
Two things that I'm unsure about:
Aumtlich beams can light fuse ends that're on edge wall.
They only light fuse ends, not regular fuse or bombs.

Ummm... it's not that the Aumtlich beam lights fuses, it's that it still does so if the end of the fuse is on a wall. The beam stops right at the wall, but the fuse gets lit anyway even though the beam never crosses it, or even hits it.

It's the latter. Mirrors, Cracked/Broken Orbs, Stalwarts and Doubles (but not their swords) are equally affected when they're located on obstacles.

Even if we talk about whether this is intended behavior or not, it brings up another inconsistency: Beethro and his sword are protected by tile-type obstacles, while Mirrors/Fuses/Orbs/Stalwarts/Doubles are not.

Well, there also is the problem that is outlined in these two pictures. Whenever the aumtlich beam passes perpendicular to the fuse end, it lights it on fire.

Uh, two pictures? Both those pictures were a question on which was true, so only one of them was actually correct (the beam has to hit the fuse directly - the discussed problem is just that walls don't protect fuses). It also doesn't have to be perpendicular: the beam just has to hit or pass over the fuse end (not just any fuse square). And finally, the fuse being lit by a beam is not the issue, because aumtlich beams lighting fuse ends is fully intentional. The only issue is how much and exactly what should walls protect from aumtlich beams.

EDIT: Thought the two pictures you were talking about were the ASCII drawings in NiroZ's post. My mistake. Still, be assured: Aumtlich gaze lighting fuses is intended behaviour.

If aumtlich gaze affects things on walls, this is a bug. It'll get fixed in an upcoming revision of 3.0.2.

I'm very sorry for the necro-bump but I'd like to ask something about this and I couldn't find anywhere else the answer (unless I searched badly).

A dead golem corpse blocks the aumtlich's gaze, but if I kill a golem on the fuse end the gaze still light it. If this is intended, what's the logic in it? The corpse should cover the fuse preventing the gaze to light the fuse.

EDIT: In the same logic, the aumtlich freeze himself with my sword pointed into the golem corpse.

Interestingly, this issue is one of the ones we're hammering out right now for the 5.0 release. We want to change something so there is a consistent interaction, as long as this doesn't break 3.0+ puzzles. We'll report back once we have a decision in place.
