I finally found something which may help debug this, as well as the
list of players chatting in-game being inaccurate (most of the time) - and ditto for demo listings.
I've just noticed that when I chat within the editor (maybe only my 4th time in there and my first chat test), that I experience none of these problems. There must be a difference in the way the connection to Caravel is handled when in-game compared to when in the editor/chat app.
Also, when I first started playing TCB the chat did work fine. Is there some kind of callback which would phone home more often depending on *something* involving progress/demos/saves etc?. I know it seems like I'm clutching here, but it would be great to have it resolved somehow. If there's anything I can test, let me know...
It just seems like something is either timing out or flooding in some direction when in-game...
