Ok this hold seems cool so far, im a little stuck on this room, sorta embarassing for me. I dont know how to hold the roach to direct him "between the lines".
Probably some posting magic will help on this.

Oh i was making it too complicate than it is?

If the magic of H&S didn't do it for you, this room is pretty straightforard once you set up the force arrows to be facing the right directions.

It's easy enough to get the roach out of the central section and trapped in the two-arrow-long passage above, but I don't seem to be able to get it further: if I use the rotator on the right, it walks right over the arrows, but if I use the rotator on the left, it moves up rather than right, and goes around the arrows. I'm not sure what I'm missing here.

EDIT: Nevermind. Looking at my own screenshot, I see what I was doing wrong.

I can't figure out what are the right directions. I fear, for the rest of the game I will always get stuck when I have to handle these *grrr*tockens and moving arrows.

Is there a special order to go around and hit the tockens, like clockwise or anticlockwise for example?

I have another problem: I can't see the picture. Maybe it's a bug with the key (can't download a new valid key scince a few days). So it will take some time untill I fully understand your explanation.

Most probably. But take a look at the image's URL - it contains the coordinates of each of the markers so you could still figure out their positions, just not as comfortable.

Use the "Insert DROD Room image" link in the creating new post screen. Then, follow the instructions.

It's quite weird-I've finished this room by myself,but I couldn't manage to load the demo.I get a message that the version of drod used while recording this demo is newer than mine.What should I do to watch it?

Well, my demo was made in 3.1.0.54, so if you don't have that, upgrading to the latest patch should do it...

Im having trouble viewing the images above, also cant see the demo anywhere. I ony just bought this game so I assume Ive got the latest version.
Can I have some step-by-step help on this one please? I just dont get this one at all.

First, it appears that no matter what is done the roach triggers the door blocking the way out of his maze. And I can't see anything in them maze that the roach can step on to change that.

Second, Two problems ...

1. I can't see posted images of rooms. I had this problem long ago playing the 1st drod but I have forgotten how to see them (perhaps being a member?).

2. I can't play the demo for this room. Again, I had solved this long ago in the 1st Drod but have forgotten how to do it or where to store the .demo so this Drod would play it.

Yes, to see the room images, you need a CaravelNet subscription, and you need to upload your progress to the CaravelNet server.

If you don't have a CaravelNet subscription, there is a rather clunky method you can use to find where the numbers are placed in posted room images. Hit quote reply to the post with the room image in it.

If I do that with noma's post, instead of the room image, I see:

Right click on the screen in your game to see the (x,y) coordinates there.

2. I can't play the demo for this room. Again, I had solved this long ago in the 1st Drod but have forgotten how to do it or where to store the .demo so this Drod would play it.
It does not matter where you store the demo. To view the demo:
1. Save it on your computer.
2. Open DROD and go to the room you're having trouble with.
3. Press F6 on your keyboard.
4. Click on Import.
5. Browse to the demo file you saved, where ever you decided to save it. Choose it, and import it.
6. Click on Watch.

Hello,
I'm obviously very new to DROD, and will purchase this wonderful game once a wee bit of money trickles in. (Yes, I am that broke. I'm a student enrolled in a graphic design program. I have a B.A. in psychology if anyone wants to purchase my diploma and give the money to Caravel.) ;)
Anyway, I'm stuck in/on the Uncturage, and I'm becoming somewhat frustrated with attempting to navigate that little roach away from any and all plates.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome Lamkin! If you scroll up this very thread, you'll see that NoahT posted a demo file, which you can import into the game. It will show you how he solved the room. My post above explains how to import and watch demos.

And, also above, noma posted a detailed verbal description of how to solve this room.

Even though there are a lot of posts above yours, don't be afraid to read through them. There's some valuable information there.

I had looked at some of the previous responses, but I did not look closely enough, apparently...Appy polly loggies.:)
(It appears Mr. Slice has a fairly detailed solution posted up there a ways.)
The room is now solved. I was on the right track, but I hadn't been aware that the roach could be trapped. (I hear a collective "Yeah, right.")

first go to 15,10 then to 14.12 then to 17,4 then to 12,0 and then wait for roach come to you and then kill him.

these instructions are great, but I have followed them to a T and regardless when I'm running left he follows in a path that hits the pressure plate about two squares from me getting him out...it's not helping to run left because the faster I run the faster he goes diagonally across the one diagonal arrow before the last two that would prohibit him from crossing. It seems simple but he's running across the arrows at the last minute towards me and I am not close enough to the second last arrow from him/exit to get him to stop hitting the plate. I've tried moving diagonally towards him left,that makes it worse faster...don't know what I'm doing wrong?

sorry, I'm new to mac and am not sure what program app I'm supposed to use to open the file...any clue? Usually files just download and go to that folder, but I tried to just open it as a download and that didn't work...
