So, I'm trying to show one of my friends DROD, but on his CPU, it won't download!

It says that the patch of thing is not installed.

What is wrong? Tell me, I really want him to enjoy DROD!

Really, Jeff - the exact error message would be of great help here, and some more information about his computer, operating system, internet connection, web browser and other software that's running would be great.

I'd really like to help you with this, but my magic 8-ball is out of order and the crystal ball is currently being RMA-ed, and I suck at pulling (working) solutions out of thin air - so bear with me (or rather us, in case I'm not the only one)...

My first guess is that you're accidentally trying to install the patch when the game isn't installed. It's a reasonable mistake; the patch is the first thing listed on the download page.

If your buddy's running Windows, make sure you're using this link

See, my own bet is "not sufficient privileges to install stuff on a Microsoft Windows platform". At any rate, the "Wonderquest neither" seems to imply the problem is not with DROD itself.

Of course, I second the call for more detail. It's mighty hard to give *too* much info to deal with a particular problem; I reckon the threshold is around some ten thousand words.
