I always love commercials with confused old people.

"Oh no. Where did I leave my car?", for example.

I saw another ad today where there's a woman on a deserted island who sees a helicopter. She chews some Trident gum, and her teeth act as a reflective device, signaling the chopper. Kinda amusing.

This thread is a listing of your favorite advertisements, in any media. I just happen to be partial to televised ads. Keep in mind that not everybody lives in the same country, so you may need to explain the product and the commercial.

Edit: Typoe. Skell copied it how I had it.

You broke me with this :D.

Well, I actually don't have favorite ads, I don't like almost every one.

I personally like the new Coke commercials.

They're both in animation. The first on is about a bad looking guy, but he turns out to be nice and does all these nice deeds, while the song 'Give a little Love' is playing.

The other one is a creative animation one where you find out how the coke bottle gets out of a vending machine, and the process it goes through inside.

(These both have aired in America, BTW.)

It worked for me, and that was actually quite amusing for a comersial. And no, you really don't have to understand Swedish to watch it.

I'm blonde and female so I feel I'm allowed to post this Mercedes commercial.

It's associated with an annoying and juvenile advertizing campaign, which induces brand loyalty in impressionable minds?

Violence macht harm. Even a caveman can do it.

(macht means makes or does, among other things, in German.)

Somehow, I fail to find the content that relates to "Favourite Advertisments" in your post. O:-

Also, as far as your caveman is concerned, I'd write that as:

"Keule macht BUMM!" :bangin

(But that's just me...)

np: Autechre - Pir (EP7)

"So easy a caveman can do it" is a slogan from rather funny commercials for a car insurance company (GEICO) here in the US. Basically, most of the commercials revolve around modern-day cavemen finding the slogan (which refers to how accessible the company is) very offensive.

This has always been one of my favorite ads. The visual gags just never stop coming - there's all sorts of little nuances that take the commercial so far beyond its pun premise.

Another favorite that I just thought of is this one, which is both funny on its own and sums up the dot com boom perfectly.

Yeah, it's great. But why did you pick the one version on YouTube with what seems to be the worst image quality ever? :)

Try this for better image quality ;)

But wait - there is more... :D

Those "So easy a caveman can do it" ads always bugged me somehow - I mean, if they live in modern day times, go to restaurants, use cell phones, etc., what makes them cavemen? Are we supposed to believe that these uber-sophisticated people still live in caves? Or is it just the funny-ridges-on-the-forehead makeup jobs they have? If its just their physical structure, that doesn't make them cavemen, just funny-looking people... I mean, WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON HERE?!?!

:blink :wacko :crazy :blowup

Ahem. I hate it when central themes to ad-campaigns don't hold up under scrutiny. On the plus side, I was looking for a good excuse for an exploding smiley.

I guess it's a conspiracy to drain Maurog's mod point supply.
