I'm seeking audition recordings for the part below. A full explanation can be found at this topic.

Pit Thing
Beethro, I am old and unreliable. Someone must carry on after I'm gone. Someone with breadth and depth that knows how to spread himself around. You could do the job, I think.

What happened to the old Pit Thing voice actor? I thought he did a great job!

Well, maybe his voice is different since you must be able to see him now. The echoes and the distance must change the caliber of the voice somehow.

Welcome back, PoV! It was coincidental that I was just reading the Spring Auditions and I saw your posts there, and you can back today. On topic, I may or may not voice act for this one, if I can find a foam thingy to put on the end of my microphone...

Thanks UrAvgAzn. Yeah, I had a lot of fun with the Denfry Auditions, so when I heard there were more characters I *had* to stop by to audition for some.

That "warmup" Denfry is one of my favorites, totally not what Erik was looking for, but fun none the less. Sadly, none of the characters here striked me as "slow" (with the exception of Pit Thing, whe also seemed massive), so the slow paced warmup Denfry will have to wait for another day. My Librarian/Gossiper uses a similar tone, but they're more cheerful.

All in good fun.

Heh heh.

I should point out that Michael Abbott (Abbyzzmal) was the original actor for the Pit Thing and did a fine job. It's likely we'd have him do the Pit Thing again for TCB provided he wanted to do it and everything was practical. That doesn't mean it's pointless to record an audition for the part. These auditions are about getting an idea of voice capabilities, and not necessarily casting specific parts. In fact, the characters in one audition part doesn't even appear in the game's dialogue, but was put there so we could hear a wider range of acting.

Following up on Erik's comment with a bit more trivia: as Erik mentioned, one of the eight roles isn't even in the game. Of the other seven, only one speaks dialogue that is actually in the game in the form given here. However, that dialogue is spoken by a different character (which was not posted here).

Prombly - obviously not. I suspect that raygun needs to be replaced with something else.
Stalwart Captain - I though Mordor was in Middle-Earth?\
Gossiper - Seems too third-person and character-descriptive
1st Patron - This is possible, but I don't think that he would have given this dialogue to anyone but a Patron, and if he did he might as well give us the right one.
King Dugan - I suspect he's not even in the game.
Drokkendut - How would Beethro get a hat underground?
1st Librarian - I somehow think that no part of the Empire would deal at all with pleasures, nor would the library contain only 22 books.

That leaves the Pit Thing.

Oh... I assumed the fact you were holding an audition for the part meant that Abbyzzmal wasn't doing it, and I couldn't quite remember his name offhand... Sorry!

Anyway, my guess as to who isn't in the game would have to be Drokkendut. If you look at his picture, he has the grey/blue skin tone of a citizen of the Rooted Empire, but he has a name (he's not Forty-Second Hat-Wearer or something). I know this isn't a stylistic thing because of the pictures we've been given of Prombly and Dugan, so either we're in for a major plot twist here or he isn't in the game and Erik used a stock graphic. Could be completely wrong, but hey!

I think that Drokkendut could actually be Denfry. I mean, that portrait could defiantly suit the character and the 'Ephelnan hat' could be a Freudian slip. Not that it would mean that Erik wants to replace the current VA for Denfry, as he has said that this is just to find people with talent.

Oh, and as for the pit monster, perhaps there's a Pit Monster Jr.
