A ST2 level I made a while back.

it's not quite as flamboyant as Radiants "Calculus" (which I have finally mastered!), but it effectively does the same thing.

I even managed to hold off on using simplified half-adders!

Hope you all like. :)

Yeah, that reminds me. Radiant, how did you possibly come up with the mechanics for Calculus? :|

It's really not that tricky.
what it does is: you put in two numbers, it compares them, and puts in another stone in every spot where there is two.
next, when it is done comparing all the stones, it sends them through the teleporter, but instead of just coming out where the extra stones did, they come out at the top left-hand corner of the screen, then move to their respective place.
you drop the mines, and all the places where there are rock stay covered and all the spots where there are none are uncovered.
thats how it works on easy.

on hard, its more tricky.
the left-hand side input row drops rock to make the digits, whereas the right-hand side row drops rocks to activate the cloners.

thats a short rundown of it.

Waterway to Go! A silly little level I've been experimenting with.

Reposted it. Only problem was that I put a no-scroll block which happened to allow the flowstone to expand.

Replay doesn't work. And I'm sure you didn't intend to have the flowstone grow onto the ice.

Edit: Also, new level, for ST2. It may look hard at first but it isn't, really, once you get used to it.

I'm a CS major. It's basically binary math.

Not nearly up to your usual standard of difficulty, but overall it's a very nice level!

I sometimes like making/playing easy levels, it's relaxing. Thanks!

This is my first effort at writing a level. I've been an avid player of ST1 for 2 years now, I've mastered probably 90% of all the levels, but I wanted to try my hand at creating one. I'd be grateful for any feedback, and I hope I'm in time to get it submitted to this years contest?

In any case, enjoy!

Welcome to the community!

Great concept for a level, especially if it's your first. I look forward to seeing more from you! One complaint: Where's the hard mode solution? If you want a level to be in any year's contest, you'll need that.

Okay. Submissions for the 2008 level design contest are closed, as of now. Give me a few weeks to play them all, and I'll upload the levelpack by the end of January. Thanks to everybody who participated!

Well, at least the "tumblers" aren't as convoluted as Combination Lock.

When it comes to new level sets, I'd like to know about the SubTerra 2 level set.
How close are we to having enough levels to finish it?
I'm really looking forward to both new sets.

Combination Lock was kind of my inspiration for Lock of Ages. Fortunately, Lock of Ages didn't require complicated tumblers to make it challenging.

As complex as combination lock was, it was actually kind of easy (and dare I say "fun"?) once you figured out exactly what to move, where, and why.

Whoever said it was hard? :P

Yes, some levels can get rather complex, but figuring out what to do can be half the fun.

Quite Nice.
It also took me a while to realise how to do it, but not because I wasn't thinking! I didn't even notice the top-left corner of the screen!

It is in Limbo. This is because I want to release it simultaneously with the speed fix (ST runs erratically on certain newer computers).

The speed of the game on my computer sometimes runs erratically, but I think that's related to the amount of time between game refresh cycles. Ie - if the game is minimized, it won't process, but the internal timer will continue running. When the system goes back to processing the game, then it will try to play catch up with all the missed cycles.

And, on topic, I have a new level for the 2009 level design contest.
