Possibly? I'm not sure exactly which one you mean. I went into the one at the far left which leads right into the conveyor, and I came out on that isolated stretch of conveyor, but then it just loops around. I can't find any way to get to where the save disk and the blue exit is.

Incidentally, the portal just below it appears to be useless since there's no possible exit for it (or entrance).

I'm now thinking that I have to somehow get the...

Oh, the egg! I've got it now... (I guess that portal's not so useless after all...)

Eep, I don't think Escape Artist (in the 2008 level pack, by Mystic) is beatable. Unless I'm missing something, you need to pass through a Munchkin, pick up boots, go back through the Munchkin, and then walk against a conveyor belt.
There is a way to get the boots without the munchkin eating them. Stand on the munchkin, but don't go past him; instead, when it's done eating your tools, use Shift to grab the boots. When you head out, you will have the boots! :D

I just took a look at the level, and it is quite possible. As CM stated above, you can't keep the boots when you pass through the munchkin. So don't use the boots. There's another way to go up the conveyor belt. ;)
I'm assuming you mean by dragging a crate when crossing the conveyor; I hadn't even thought of that when I designed it. It wasn't my intended solution, but I just tried it, and it's valid. Good job! :thumbsup

I never knew you could do that. Cool!

Yes you can, surprisingly. It's a quirk I discovered when I made the "Escape Artist" level. Apparently, when you're standing on a munchkin and you grab a tool, the munchkin can't eat it.

He did (at least I think it's a he).

We could always make another Quirk level. After skimming the quirk thread Danjen mentioned, there are more than enough examples of oddball behavior...

In Wild Blue Yonder (BJ), there's a puzzle that's supposed to be necessary to release a blue key from a trap; however, you can just grab it right out of the trap without doing the puzzle!

Thanks for pointing that out, CM. :)

This is a good opportunity to fix some of the bugs in my previous levels. I have here Wild Blue Yonder (of course), Reactions (it was possible to remove the rock on the red conveyor belt without activating it), Evolution (restricted the number of diamonds you can make in the last room), and Possibilities for Disaster (I can't remember if I actually changed anything besides the spelling :? )

I'm currently working on some ST2 levels. I hope to release them in the next few days.

A reference to me!
YAY!

Though to be fair, the quirk level I made isn't really that good, as most of the things in it are documented.

I've got a few ST2 levels on the way, but I'm not sure when they'll be ready.
Mostly they're HUGE levels that I've been working on for about a year on and off trimmed down to make them possible to post this century.

Some of them weren't. For example, fairies turning to dirt in traps, or being unable to speak from a trap. I don't think it's documented that a wire charge can cross a fuse block at the same time as it disappears due to being on a barrier closed by the very same wire charge. And the dog/munchkin relationship is not documented, I think.

Speaking of Quirks, though:
a) You misspelt "Demons" (or is it "Daemons"?) in hint 3, and lack a period.
b) Hint 5 is missing an apostrophe in "can't", as well as a period.
c) Why is "you" capitalized in hint 8?

Feel free to make a newer version of my quirk tutorial, maybe replace a few of the less fantastic quirks with new ones and fix the many grammatical errors. :P

I love it.
I've given it to most of my friends, but the half of them who are interested in these kinds of small games don't have an internet connection.

Subterra is probably the most popular(except for probably ATOTK) of the CrystalShard games, but as there is only a small group of regulars around, it kinda seems to shrink the place.
For a Small independent game group CS is doing quite well.:thumbsup

Probably the main reason that there are only a few people who have posted more than three or so levels is that most people don't have the time/commitment to make very many.
I'd make more, but recently I've been immersing Myself in my studies. ;)

Have you tried the game yourself?

I haven't posted much lately (in this thread anyway) because I've been in what's best described as a rut. After posting about 60-65 levels over the course of 4-5 years, I think I've hit a wall. I can't even seem to finish the handful of levels I have started.
jeffandy1234 wrote:

Sounds like me when I first started posting levels. Out of the 10 or 20 levels I had when I first came here, I only posted the six that were any good; the rest either were deleted or got transformed into something actually worth playing.

I made a few levels for SubTerra 1 and 2. I hope you like them. The SubTerra 1 ones are:

1. Obedience
2. Gemfall
3. Intentionally Misled
4. Accuracy

The SubTerra 2 ones are:

1. Bide Your Time
2. Maze Of Gravity

EDIT: I only just figured out SubTerra 2's "Voices In My Head" level, so I didn't know how similar Obedience was to it before. Though I still think Obedience provides a different take on it :)

It's been almost two months since the last post on this thread :-O .

I have a package of five never-before-seen Subterra levels here that I would like to share. It contains:

Checkers - a cleaver little level. It's my take on random levels.

Circular Logic - a level I've been working on for a while. It's my first real attempt to create mini-puzzles. Personally, I think it's pretty good. I would really like some feedback on this one, especially if any of the rooms have alternate solutions.

Hatching Plans - another clever idea. Not much worry of alternate solutions here.

One Door too Many - this level was a pill to create, but it turned out okay. Again, feedback is much appreciated.

Walkabout - one of the simpler levels I've made. I usually don't do maze-like levels. The hardest part of this level is simply doing it within the time limit.

New levels! Yay! I'll try them out later tonight or tomorrow.

I'd post some new levels myself, but I haven't had any in a while; I'm still trying to get out of my creative rut, and I've had a lot on my plate the last few months.

New level! :D

Everyone gets in a creative rut now and then. What I usually do (at least for Subterra) is just walk away for a while and wait until my mind starts wandering back to level design. When that happens I can sit down and pound out several levels without much difficulty.
It's also good to keep this piece of advice in mind: it doesn't need to be perfect; it just needs to be fun.

Okay, enough of my unsolicited advice. On to the level! :D

I have no idea who made it, but somehow I found a level called "Coffee" which is quite nice, but (as far as I can ascertain) not quite solvable.

Additionally, I have made two levels today. One utilizes the "dynamite blocking portals" idea that came up in another thread, and the other is just something that popped into my head while creating the first.

So... here is Portal Suicide.
