Merry Xmas, Clayton, I finished playing through the rooftop tonight while pretending to watch "
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation."
Usually we watch "
A Christmas Story"
, which is much better, although since I've seen it so many times I probably still would have played. Anyway, here are my comments.
The Rooftop:
The early "
flashback"
rooms are a lot harder than the later ones. 9N 1E and 9N 7E are really tough...although 9N 7E took me longer it didn't feel as hard. I think it's just because like Eytan said, it's annoying how the queens move under brains. You don't really have to change it, just a comment.
8N 7E: was extremely annoying.

×Even if I hadn't accidentally fallen for your trap by carelessly having my sword in the wrong direction.
8N 4E:

×I broke all the walls before going through the trapdoor; this gave me extra time I might not have had to beat the room, although there was more than enough space to solve it. Not sure if you would have wanted this.
8N 1W:

×this room is totally trivial...and not in the same way that 7N 1W is likely supposed to be. It's easier than the original, so this seems more like an accident.
7N 2W:

×I was easily able to kill all the serpents by running around until I could get the roaches in the first passageway and letting the serpents kill themselves on them. After that it was a piece of cake. Not that I really want you to change it, because I tried the other way and it was damn tough. But I am sure you had a certain puzzle in mind.
And I actually got the ending! So for some reason I don't see that ending stair bug in this level. It must have something to do with the differences between how people construct the holds.
I went through the rest of your hold in the editor to investigate rooms that may have changed, so here are some comments on two other rooms.
Ground Floor, 2N 1W: this room looked different, so I played through it.

×I think you have an unintended solution, because there are two locations where you can kill roaches by standing on a door that closes on you. It seems like this is unintended because the green doors drop even though I hadn't hit some yellow orbs.
Sixth Story, 1N 4W: The right hand scroll had no text on it, although the left one did. And actually I wasn't able to beat the room in enough time to check them out for myself...that seems pretty tough. I don't feel like doing it at this time, so if you say it can be done I will believe you.
Well, that's all I have to say. It looks really good, I think it should be pretty much ready for release! I would hold a last call for comments, then ring in the new year with the largest finished hold available!
Game on,
