The Version Curse strikes again.

Apparently the game's behavior changed between 5.1.0 and 5.1.1 so that body-killing a decoy no longer wakes up the monsters.

So I solved the room in my own non-Caravelnet-enabled 5.1.1 build, and then switched back to the old build and tried to upload the demo (this has worked with the broken rooms in Caravel Confrontation), but this time it didn't work, it says "score uploaded" but then nothing happens, the forum stat page still lists the room as unsolved.

I've attached the demo. Can someone else check what's wrong with it?

So, what precisely is the issue for you?
That your CNet 5.1.0 version isn't marking the room as complete?

In 5.1.1, this works perfectly well, I've just downloaded it.

My issue is that the Caravelnet backend doesn't validate the demo. So I can't have the coveted 1920/1920 full score unless I do something desperate like copying someone else's demo.

That's strange though, it should validate!
The demo ran to completion in 5.1.1 on my end.
Maybe someone else knows?

There is something fishy about how the game recognizes a demo as one that clears the room. The 5.1.1 binary shows my original demo with the text "The player just passes through. The player steps on a conquer token on turn XXX", even though the demo runs to the end, and the room is shown as white on the minimap. Some of the other demos that show the text "the player destroys a monster and clears the room" or similar differ in the regard that they actually kill the construct at least once on one of the decoys' sword.

So I restored and solved the room again, doing that, but that didn't help, the Caravelnet backend doesn't want to validate it.
