I'm not sure if this has been noted before, but here's what happened in the hold "A test of mind", Drod version 1.2.9.564.

I killed a rattlesnake without taking any damage, then I tried to go SW, but that move is not possible since mt ATK is lower than the enemy's defense. However, every time I pressed SW, it appeared the graphic of killing a rattlesnake, even showing "100" as if I earned 100 greckles (I didn't).
I have not tried it in other situations.

When make a move that would cause you to you try to fight an enemy you cannot fight, the game immediately undoes that move. Your previous move ended with killing a rattlesnake, so the undo shows the combat aftermath, as undoes always do.
