NoahT was kind enough to send me his player file, but unfortunately I wasn't able to import it. The problem was the same as when I'd tried to import my own player file earlier.
Attempt 1:
- Used my existing Mac version
5.1.1.624.
- Deleted everything from the /Users/user/Library/Application Support/Caravel/ directory
- Ran the game, created a new player profile
- Connected to CaravelNet in the settings
- Downloaded The Descent of King Hesper successfully from CNet
- Imported the player file
This caused the game to crash (unexpectedly and suddenly exit) during the "
Checking saved game integrity"
phase, which is something Noah had also reported happening on his end. The result was that no progress was shown in the hold.

Attempt 2:
- Downloaded a fresh copy of Mac version
5.1.1.550 from the
Downloads page.
- Deleted everything from the /Users/user/Library/Application Support/Caravel/ directory
- Ran the game, created a new player profile (after approving the game as a valid executable in macOS System Settings ->
Privacy & Security)
- Connected to CaravelNet in the settings (had to relaunch once to get this to connect)
- Downloaded The Descent of King Hesper successfully from CNet
- Imported the player file
Same crash during the "
Checking saved game integrity"
phase. The result was that no progress was shown in the hold.
I am running macOS Sonoma 15.3.1. For my next attempt, I'll be trying to import the player profile into the Windows version of DROD running in a VM.
