I've been wanting to play this game for a while but am not a PC user. I was finally able to get it working using the PlayOnMac software.

When I touch the stones to leave the first world (I forget the name of the world) shown in this attached screenshot, I get the message "Error : GetFrontBufferData failed", and the game closes.

I'm curious if anyone else playing this game on a Mac has experienced this.

I recommend opening the game in ScummVM and playing it from there. I'm reasonably sure this allows you to fully complete the game on a Mac (just the Steam achievements won't work).

That's a great idea. I just checked and it looks like this game is not supported by ScummVM. I tried installing it through ScummVM just to be sure, and it wouldn't recognize the .exe file...

Please ask around on the ScummVM forums. According to their wiki, it has status "good" meaning it should work.

The ScummVM forums helped me with a solution! Rather than trying to extract the game files from the.exe files (not easy on a Mac). They recommended downloading the Linux version, which comes as a zip file with all the game files in a folder. Pointing ScummVM to the unzipped Linux folder worked!

Oh, you meant the installer exe file? Yeah, that'd be hard. If you get the game from Steam then you would also have all regular files without an installer or ZIP.
