Slayer does not account for activated pressure plates or destroyed orbs (+3)
I thought about a weird and unlikely situation and did some testing. Here's what I found.
If Halph is going for a one-use pressure plate, and something steps on that plate but the door it opens is closed before Halph moves, Halph will recalculate his path.
The same thing happens if Halph is going for a cracked orb and it becomes broken or totally destroyed before he reaches it. Or an uncracked orb is destroyed through briar or sinking.
Halph will not recalculate if a multi-use or on-off pressure plate is held down. This is a little weird but makes some sense, since it's possible the plate could be cleared by the time he gets there.
However, if the slayer is trying to open a door, he does not recalculate in any situation other than his already-calculated path being blocked. He will step on a used one-use pressure plate before considering alternatives, and even stranger, he will attempt to hit an orb that no longer exists before deciding to look for a new one.
I don't really have an opinion on if Halph's behavior should be changed so he recalculates for held down multi-use or on-off pressure plates. But I do think the Slayer should behave the same way Halph does, whatever that ends up being.
This is such an obscure situation that I don't expect changing the rules would break any existing rooms.
