I'm a little confused. I started with Hera's Ring, and so did my friend, but my brother did not. Any new heroines I make no longer start with the ring.
Does it only show up on your first heroine or something? I tried downloading 1.2 through Steam, but I didn't get the ring on any of my heroines there, either.

It sounds like you're sharing a computer?

If you're talking about the cursed ring, then what probably happened was someone else who was playing picked it up but did not get rid of it. Part of the curse is that the ring will travel across save files and characters, so if one person plays the game and gets the ring, but lets another person start a new game, then the next player is sabotaged until somebody breaks the curse.

No. These are on three different computers, and I'm not talking about the cursed ring. My my first heroine started with Hera's Ring in her inventory, presumably a subtle suggestion that she's the daughter of the hero from the Quest for Glory games. But I'm not sure why my first heroine got it and my friend's, but not my brother's or any heroine I made since.

I am also curious about this one (being the friend referred to in the OP).

Is it just a rare RNG result? Is it only a first-character thing? Does HQ do crazy stuff and search the HDD for copies of QfG? (like Metal Gear Solid would do)

It's a Quest for Glory reference. Those four names are the names of characters that the QFG hero can marry in QFG5; which he does by giving her that ring after winning her heart.

In my current game with a rogue heroine I tried to sell Hera’s ring to Regin and he responed with the same text as if I tried to sell him something a 2nd time (e.g. when selling him something, stealing it back and then trying to sell it to him again "... how very clever of you..."). However I have not tried to sell him that ring before nor stolen the ring from him. Is that ring wrongly marked as stolen property of Regin?

I was never able to get if she was there daughter or supposed to be Elsa herself, hence she would have her wedding ring. She has knowledge of Spielberg. She also looks a bit like Elsa with her green cloak as a brigand leader. Could the hero have thrown her over for another woman? Could she be a deposed queen in exile wondering the land starting over? Perhaps shes bitter. She would not want to go back to Spielberg because her brother the current baron, does not love her, and from what she says in Dragonfire, would just strategly marry her off, as soon as she got back.

I would assume the intent was that you're playing as their daughter, as naming your hero Nawar, Erana, or Katrina also result in you starting with Hera's Ring, and you're certainly not one of them!
