Re: What multiplayer games have got you going/What multiplayer games are you interested in playing (0)
TF2 is the only multiplayer shooter I've ever played online. But I kinda dropped off a couple weeks after first trying it and haven't gone back. Might change that, one day.
Right at the moment, I'm playing Baldur's Gate with a girl I know online. Specifically, Baldur's Gate rolled into the BG2 engine via the Baldur's Gate Trilogy mod, along with most of the significant content-adding mods and some tweak/fix mods. She's playing with one character (a bounty hunter), I'm playing with two (a shapeshifter and a sorceror, the latter has been largely useless but will no doubt pick up in higher levels). We expect to be at it a while.
I'm a little surprised how fun it is. I mean, I love all of the Infinity Engine games, but unlike Neverwinter Nights, they were clearly designed around the singleplayer experience and made little compromise to accomodate multiplayer. (As far as I can tell, the main thing is that certain dialogue acknowledges that the main character is with other adventurers.) So I had rather expected it to be a mess. But to be perfectly honest, I've had far more fun than I ever did playing NWN multiplayer. My partner feels likewise. (We did try NWN, before. She wasn't enthused.)
