2nd of July sounds fine. TF2 is perfect. I think I have a good enough computer to run a server too, but I'm not quite sure how to set it up, lock it and such.

Hmmm, problem. I live down under, you live in the US. Ping is going to be interesting.

It's better than nothing though, right? Maybe?

Yeah, it is. I'm not going to kick a fuss if it turns out that the server ping will be too high for me to play. I was half expecting it to happen anyway.

Teeworlds (Teewars)

It's awesome, it's action-packed. It's pure, distilled old-school fun in modern dressing. It's multiplayer, and brings back memories of games like Joust, Archon, and of course Liero, Soldat etc.
It's the single most cute shooter out there.

If you ever wanted to re-enact the scene from Master and Margaret where Behemoth the cat is sitting on a swinging chandelier and shooting policemen without anyone getting hurt - now it's your chance.*

*One of my favourite scenes, but how funny it is depends on your imagination.

In case you're on my friends list, you'll notice that my time has been devoured by Garry's Mod. It's so stupidly awesome! :P

BTW, I'm back on my dad's account.

Never mind the game, it looks like I urgently need to catch up on my Bulgakov!

TF2 is the only multiplayer shooter I've ever played online. But I kinda dropped off a couple weeks after first trying it and haven't gone back. Might change that, one day.

Right at the moment, I'm playing Baldur's Gate with a girl I know online. Specifically, Baldur's Gate rolled into the BG2 engine via the Baldur's Gate Trilogy mod, along with most of the significant content-adding mods and some tweak/fix mods. She's playing with one character (a bounty hunter), I'm playing with two (a shapeshifter and a sorceror, the latter has been largely useless but will no doubt pick up in higher levels). We expect to be at it a while.

I'm a little surprised how fun it is. I mean, I love all of the Infinity Engine games, but unlike Neverwinter Nights, they were clearly designed around the singleplayer experience and made little compromise to accomodate multiplayer. (As far as I can tell, the main thing is that certain dialogue acknowledges that the main character is with other adventurers.) So I had rather expected it to be a mess. But to be perfectly honest, I've had far more fun than I ever did playing NWN multiplayer. My partner feels likewise. (We did try NWN, before. She wasn't enthused.)

There doesn't appear to be a TF2 topic here, but I didn't think this was worth starting a whole one for - maybe it is, who knows.

Valve have given TF2 owners guest passes to dish out to their unconverted friends, allowing the recipient 3 full days of free play. Pretty much everyone I know who would be interested already has the thing, so I thought I'd see if any of you guys wanted to try it. All you need is Steam ('s free) and me as a friend.
