The script that generates the challenge webpages can't pick this one up - you need to have the full name of the dungeon.

Of course, given that this challenge already appears on the website (posted by Wesley), that's not as big a deal as it could be.

Ouch... I did look to see if the challenge was already posed but I must've been blind.

Anyway, I actually think not using the mimic is easier than trying to use the it.

Question - what do you mean by "use the mimic"? Does the mimic have to be involved in some way (i.e. it can block one snake, which then blocks another)? Does the mimic have to be adjacent to the head of every snake that dies?

p.s. You're still not using the challenge tag properly - is that deliberate? You need to spell out "King Dugan's Dungeon", KDD is meaningless. And it doesn't do anything in the middle of a thread, only in the first post.

Hey "KDD" is what the game calls it's own victory demo's

Does the script use regex? Something like:

  k(ing)?[^:]*d(ugan.?s?)[^:]*d(ungeon)?.*)

should match anything, ignoring case, with the fourth group matching the level/room string.

(That frowny should of course be a colon and a open paren...)

Maybe a better way to phrase it... solve the room without sending a snake into initial entrance.

And as for the misuse of the tag... no I wasn't trying to be obstinate... I know I've been around long enough I should rememeber the rules for the "proper" format... but I didn't remember the rules...


Edit: maybe this room is a poor choice for a challenge... as the "do a little dancing with the snakes" technique solves it in any case... I'm a little burnt out after solving lvl13 without looking it up... it's worse than lvl 9... both push the tedious / fun ratio for me.

The last time I played through this room, I didn't use the entrance. Of course, it's much harder to actually prevent the serpents from dying there than it is to just not have them die there by chance.

As for the script, I don't know how it works, beyond the instructions that we were given, I just know what shows up on the DROD.net challenge page.
