I never played most of these levels, so I decided to go back and play it all the way through.

I got stuck on Level 2, Once West:

There are two accessible entrances, and no matter which one I use, I seem to be stuck smiting wraithwings until long after the queen roach in the little 2x2 area marked (1) has spawned roach babies. Since she's surrounded by pits, I need to get my mimic in there before she can spawn, or at least while there's one empty space in the area. If I enter from the south, there's an empty space after the first spawn, but it's filled up before I can get to the mimic potions. If I enter from the east, roaches fill up the area at the first spawn.

Hints? This is driving me nuts.

Hmm... I remember having a lot of trouble in this room but not how I eventually solved it. I no longer have a save that can easily access it, but did you try:

Doesn't work - you can't get up onto the trapdoors without being killed. Well, unless you kill all the WWs first, but that has its own problems.

Yes - I made the change so you can't enter from the south.

And hey - how did you put a non-Dugan room in there?

Yeah, that makes it much easier. :?
Anybody got a hint for the current version? Has anyone at least completed the current Level 2 1W?

Actually I can't do the new 1S in level 1. Did you manage to do that one schik?
Yeah, I got that one. What in particular were you having problems with?

Using code on my test forum. I've got image insertion for all uploaded holds working, I just need to work through a ton of details for this feature and for a few fun future forum features. (heh)

So then it is solvable? Are you going to give Schik a hint? I tried it and I don't see how to do it either. The only other thing that was added was another mimic potion, which is of course necessary for that little island. I admit this one has me baffled too.

So why does the scroll in the entrance tell you to go South if you're only supposed to beat this one from the entrance?

Game on,

1 South I can't get the tar on the bottom to a shape that allows me to do both sides. I can do either the left or the right but not both.

Okay, I just re-beat this one so I'd have a good idea what I'm talking about. :)

One of the sides turns into a nice rectangle of tar, easy to remove. On the other side, it's bumpy at one end making it more difficult. To remove the bumpy side,

From there it should be pretty easy.

Just in case, I'm attaching a demo of it.

Are you sure level 12 2 north is possible? I can see no way to drop the trapdoors in the top room and I don't mean killing the snake I mean dropping the trapdoors.

1. Maybe I forgot to replaytest 2:1W. I'll test it and if it's wrong it will be corrected.

2. I don't have the game with me right now, so I don't know what Scott means. 2N is the one with the roach maze in the top left and the tar eyes in the center area. I don't think there are any trapdoors in this room. I know that I playtested it...

On the room image, why are the yellow doors shown as separate squares?

Limitations of the forum display code - it considers each square on its own, it doesn't check to see what the neighbours are. Remember that these aren't real screenshots - it just saves the room code and the forum generates the image from scratch.

(note: the above is an educated guess, not concrete knowledge, but I'll be surprised if it's wrong)

Pretty much dead on, but I'll add on the fact that not EVERY square is considered only by itself - look at pits and tar, for example.

The doors didn't get done because of the tar - it was a big enough of a pain that I wasn't in a hurry to do something similar for the doors. I will get to it sometime though. And when I do, I'll fix the walls to look correct (when there's a floor tile below them).

Scott's picture is a real screenshot, whereas Schik's was generated using the forum's DROD Room image generation scheme. Which right now only works for us on Dugan's, but later will be able to make an image for any of the finished holds, the ones in the Holds forum.

This is why I waited so long to play this hold - I was hoping all of these would be fixed. Very frustrating, especially since it's my last room in that level. Oh well, I'll probably end up skipping to the third level.

All right, I tested it, and it doesn't work. Sorry, everyone.

And Schik, it's the second last room, not the last.

If the room is ok except for the timer being too short, you may want to put a long, 1-wide column in the 3-wide pit at the top of the screen; if the tar mother is arrowed at the top of it, it could only create one roach at a time and they'll file to the bottom - you could control the length of the timing by the length of the island.

You keep adding levels faster than I can solve them - plus I'm not sure I'm motivated enough to solve level 13. But I did solve all but one of the rooms in levels 1-10 so far, and many in the higher levels.

What is the problem, exactly? There is none evident in the screenshot.
