Glad to move on. I agree about the tar mazes: if I didn't have the tar mod now, I would never have gone through some of those, with secret walls, dead ends, trap doors, and narrow passages/corners under tars, that would have been a nightmare (it was tedious enough as it was). I could tell that other players must have thought the same, as I surprisingly placed number 1 my first time through.
The checkpoints were placed terribly, especially in the entrance. The sole checkpoint is in the very last place in the room you get to, after all enemies are dead.
Difficulty was weird, from fairly difficult (nasty orb puzzle) in the first room, to a tar maze in the second, to a wide empty room with only a few roaches and a serpent that was fairly straight-forward. I didn't even bother trying to optimize half the rooms.
Don't bother. This is one of my least liked holds in a while.
