What happens when you install DROD-JtRH twice?
I want a DROD for KDD2 and all SS holds, and a DROD with all other holds.
But is it possible without a crash of the game?
I could test it ofcourse, but I don't want to lose anything.
So does any of the programmers know if it safe?

Thanks.

As far as I know, DROD doesn't actually do much "install" as "copy all the files to the directory and add a few reigistry keys telling Windows DROD exists". In other words, in runs straight from a directory without installation, so as many DRODs as you want should be safe.

Unless something changed that I missed, everytime you use the different installation you will need to request a new CaravelNet key. This, as I can attest to when switching between Linux and Windows versions, can be a big pain in the rear.

Why not just use the same installation from both OSes. That's whatI do, and it works great.

Note that it's not possible to have the same game* installed in two different locations as the same user in Linux** (different games are of course ok). This is because the location of the data files are stored in ~/.caravel/[game]/DataPath.txt -- so, all installations would end up using the same data files.

.. okay, so it is possible, but you'll have to do a little bit of scripting. For example, you can delete ~/.caravel/drod-2_0/DataPath.txt before launching DROD:JtRH in a different location to force it to search for its data again. If the data is located in a subdirectory of the executable's location, this should work.

* DROD:JtRH demo, DROD:JtRH full, DROD:KDD demo, DROD:KDD full and DROD:AE are all considered different games.

** This is actually a lie, read on.

Great idea, but I'd need a bit of help with it - at the moment, all of my hard drives have been partitioned, so I'd need to know:

1) A free program that allows me to resize partitions.
2) The files I need to edit.

Edit: This, oddly, is my 2000th post. I'm trying my hardest not to use an emoticon for the occasion.
