I had another session on Renegades yesterday, checking through any changes from Level 1. Incidentally, I see that the room that I liked, the one you had changed on Level 4: 1S, 1W, is now to be found in The Void (2S, 2E). There has been a good deal of talk about the scripting and spelling mistakes etc – I have to admit that I tend to ignore this side of things and just concentrate on conquering the rooms – for stories I read books, currently Dickens’ Bleak House.
Level 1
Would seem to be finished now, at least I had no problems. That very difficult golem room that you once had here has also gone to The Void (1N, 7E), which is a far more appropriate place for it – had it remained on Level 1, I could see you losing 80% of your players instantly!
Level 2
Also seems to be finished in that you can progress through to Level 3 although the level of difficulty is very much on the high side, as it is for the entire hold. There are however four secret rooms that I could not reach so I take it that there is no prize for collecting them all? I could not get to the cluster at: 2N, 3E; 3N, 4E and 2N, 5E nor the single at 6N, 4E. You provide a passage to 6N, 4E, starting in 6N, 2E, but I was unable to cut the tar, whether living or not, and so gain access – is there a way of doing it?
Level 3
I found a number of problems here and have still not finished checking the level:
2N There remain two ways of trapping The Slayer before reaching the third section of golems – you will remember stigant’s clever trap. Myself, I would leave it like this but the main problem with this room is that you must exit east to do 2N, 1E and the secret room at 2N, 2E for, if leaving north, there is no backtracking south through 3N; 4N and probably 6N.
5N As Doom pointed out, you do not need the rattlesnakes in order to kill the eyes in the NE and SE – the force arrows will protect you from a rear attack. Also the snake in the NE tends to run onto the arrows and can do a 180° turn – could you not just replace the arrows with eyes? Anyway, the room is impossible since Beethro cannot leave the SE section because of the force arrows here.
Further Beta Testing
As I said in an earlier post, Level 4 would appear to be finished but the hold probably remains a long way away from completion. Having spent so much time on it, I would like to see it through to the end but fear that it is going to take some time yet.
