This may have been asked for before, but a simple search didn't find it.

First off, I'd like to be able to naturally place stairs on the edge of the room. Currently you can do it with cut and paste, but not by selecting the stair tile and dragging on the edge.
When there is no adjacent room, stairs on edge can be useful
- for making use of all the space in the room
- aesthetically, for stairs that go "past" the top or bottom of the screen.

I think that problem might be due to the extra walls around the stairs, which leads to the next request - the ability to place stairs without the surrounding walls. Those walls are annoying if you'd rather have pits or something - plus, it makes it difficult to make non-rectangular stair cases. Adding stairs adjacent to existing stairs could be handled in the same way that door associations are.

And finally, it would be nice to delete part of a set of stairs without them all disappearing. Partly because sometimes you just need to trim them down, and partly because sometimes you want to make silly shapes out of them.

So in summary

* Stairs on room edge

* Option for no surrounding walls

* Ability to delete part of stairs without deleting them all.
