All of the rooms in this hold are rooms that I made from the day I bought JtRH to... a few weeks after I bought it. The rooms in this hold's sequel are much more advanced and challenging, but Erik recommended that I upload this one first because I might have a shot at getting a high rating.

Some of the rooms are difficult, some are simple, but I hope that most of them just provide you with entertainment. So please enjoy. Thank you.

Hmmm... :?
In AE we had the stairs bug making stairs lead back to the same level when they should end the hold. In JtRH there seems to be a 'reverse' stairs bug: it makes stairs end the hold when they should go someplace else.

In other words, the stairs in Excavation Point: 1S end the hold.

Edit: Also, you cannot access the level behind the master doors, because the room with the master doors can only be solved by exiting through the stairs.

For some reason that made me think of an MC Escher drawing.

That's really weird... I don't know why those stairs lead to end hold. I've tested this hold a million times over and it's always worked fine. But sure enough in the editor it said they ended the hold. So I changed it to the next level...

And that master door room was my mistake... It was the last room I created and I didn't even think about it. I guess I just assumed everything would be fine since myself and a few other people had tested the hold so many times... Sorry. I fixed that, too.

How do I update the changes?

Go to Profile and then click on the My Holds tab.

Game on,

Thank you. I did that, and it said "Your hold update complete!"

But for the last ten minutes or so, the "Creating level images" progress bar has been at 75%, the "Creating room images" progress bar has been at 98%, and the status bar thing at the bottom of the window keeps changing from "Done" to "Opening page: http://www.drod.net/forum/temp/RoomProgress.html" to "Opening page: http://www.drod.net/form/temp/LevelProgress.html." It just keeps doing it over and over. I still have the window open in fact. Is it supposed to be doing that?

Alright, I just tried it again and it all went to 100% and completed itself. It should be updated now.

Overall enjoyable. :fun

Many good rooms.

Criticism:
Many rooms have trivial, I believe unintended, solutions. Mixing in easy rooms is fine, but many rooms looked like they might have some puzzle elements, but the trivial solutions ignored them. Take a look at the record demos to see. I think the problem often stemmed from too many room entrances/exits. Maybe more testing would help (I didn't see credit given to any testers). One example of a trivial solution is Level 1: 1N1E.

Thanks for your input. And you are right. A few of the rooms had trivial solutions. Apparentely a recurring solution that I (and testers, which were uncredited because they were my friends from outside the forum) neglected to notice was exiting through the door from which the player entered. Fortunately, that didn't happen too terribly much. Also, the multiple entrance thing only trivialized two rooms that I saw. When I first released this hold in the architecture forum months ago, the first level was just a line going straight up. People didn't like that design, so I tried to change it. I thought I'd made all the entrances logical, but I guess not. However, I hope the occassional trivial solution didn't take away from your enjoyment too much. I believe I have found a way to fix most of them, but I don't know if I should release it just yet... After all, this isn't in beta anymore. I can't just be releasing new versions all the time. Maybe I'll release the updated version along with my next hold.

I should add that I especially liked The Depths: 2S. A nice puzzle where you have to maneuver a mimic around a spiral.

I also really liked DJ Dungien :D
