Well, it all depends on how you start. If you use a pillow in one position, then that assumption leads to a cascade of other assumptions.
Here's the trick. Suppose you do this: you take the pillow left off the first island, up off the second ("A" with the blue gem) and you end up at the eight-square island with the green gem. Suppose you push the pillow right and down. If you ride this pillow, note how you will hit an earlier pillow (the first one you used to go left) and 'hop' over it. This changes the path. If you could now get back to the second ("A") island somehow, you would go right to the "B" island, instead of to the starting island.
Now you don't actually need this trick to get to "B" because "B" is easy to get to, but you can perform this in one or two other places, and that will save you a pillow.
