If an orb is next to a diagonal gentryii chain, Halph can activate the orb from across the chain. However, a player who has touched a power token or has a player role with the ability to activate orbs on bump cannot do this.

I feel like this is something that should be consistent - either orbs are accessible across the chain without a weapon, or they aren't.

Did some more poking around.

The same inconsistency happens if you try to bump diagonally from an orthosquare, or against the direction of a force arrow. The player fails to hit the orb, but Halph does hit it. This applies whether the obstruction is on your tile or on the orb's.

Attempting to bump a seeding beacon across such obstacles also fails. You also can't bump a door to command Halph.

I guess this suggests that not being able to bump across an obstacle is normal and the weird thing is Halph's ability to activate orbs across obstacles anyways?

Thanks for reporting this issue. Am I understanding correctly that the suggestion is to change the game logic to prevent Halph from being able to do activate across diagonals when the player cannot?

I think it would be best for the behavior to be consistent for both Halph and the player. It's probably less disruptive to make Halph change than the player, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to look into whether that's actually the case.

This behavior should preferably also be consistent with Beethro's dagger usage, which (I think) allows bumping through the chain. I don't remember about orthosquares. In any case, the dagger behavior can't be changed, since I assume it appears in rooms with gentryii or orthosquares. It is better then (if possible) to make the other behaviors consistent with that.
