Discovered as part of investigating this thread.

If player is stuck in a death loop caused by, say, starting a cutscene on turn 0 while player is on hot tile, leaving the game is problematic - you need to press R and Escape at the same time. Escape should exit to title screen/editor even while death animation is playing.

PR posted. It should now be possible to press escape during death animation. This will take you back to the title screen (or editor). Progress will be saved as if you undid the move and then left the game.

Can confirm in 5.1.1.alpha.2020-10-16 that you can press Escape to leave during the death animation.
