I don't know what happened, but suddenly my hold lost all it's custom images, and when I try to re-import them, the game crashes. There's nothing else to say about that, just removal of images, and crashing when importing.

Maybe your hold became corrupted?

I’d create a new hold, reimport the custom images, then copy and paste individual rooms over.

I just tried going into a completely unrelated hold of mine that I had laying around and tried to put an overhead image in that.

The game crashed.

Oh, and the problem is also happening with custom sounds. Apparently my version of the game has completely lost it's ability to handle custom files in locally-authored holds.

I never did manage to get this fixed. And I also discovered that custom graphics in holds by other authors just don't show up either.

So I figured I'd uninstall this version and download a new copy. Except, somehow the uninstaller went missing. I managed to restore the folder to a previous version to get it back, but now it's saying that the application that it's trying to uninstall doesn't exist.

Basically, I can't even properly get rid of this broken version of the program. It's doubtful this issue can be reproduced, so at this point, I'll just take any advice on how to surgically remove it from my hard drive.

If you're using windows, you could maybe try going to "Programs and features" and see if DROD is actually installed, and uninstall it from there. If it's not showing up in that list, then just deleting the folder in question should give you room to reinstall it.

It turns out what I had to do was delete all my player data.
And you know what, it was a sacrifice I was willing to make.
Because at least my Steam Version still remembers who I am.
