Last night, Nuntar suggested that I just try throwing some monsters around and mess about until the result is beatable. Over the course of a couple hours afterward, I made this thing. It's one level, no keys or accessories, and possibly just terrible. I tried to at least give it a few "interesting features", such as a gauntlet and a mud pachinko room.

UPDATE:
I changed the _MyColor value of the "Crumbly Wall Golem". My goal was to try and make it look more like the color of the purple walls, dunno if it worked.

I got everything; spending 50 more greckles would give me a path back to the level (maybe worthwhile if I wanted to get greckles later).

I'm not sure my path was optimal. I really enjoyed how it was set up. :)

I actually ran out of health on my first run.

Apparently I did some suboptimal things, since I'm down a lot more health that Someone Else. I'm up a lot more greckles though, so I probably did more fighting than necessary.

What was with your drawn checkpoint? Is this ever going to be made into a hold (either as is, or with this as the first level)?

I consider my hand-drawn checkpoint to be my trademark at this point. It was first made for the previous "year of RPG" contest because I didn't know where to find the "default" checkpoint graphic (and actually, I still don't).
