This was discussed a while back, and I wanted to bring it up again. Is there any way to set something up that would let you take back just one move?

Many of us have sensitvie key boards that "double up" on keystrokes. That, or just a finger twitch at the wrong time can turn fun into tedium.

There are some fun holds I simply give up on because one wrong move starts the room over, overwhelming the fun with frustration.

Go ahead and make my brain smoke from thinking about these puzzles, but don't bore me with tedious restarts - please!

Kathryn

Oh, maybe just the ability to save a room at any point and come back to it??

Thanks

Checkpoints save your starting point in the middle of a room. But what would the point be?Lots. What I think they should do is that you can continue from a demo. There would be a continue button on the demo screen and u can press stop and u continue.

In games where you could save wherever you want, I've often found that the save system intrudes heavily into the gameplay experience and makes the game less enjoyable.

Interesting idea. Unfortunately, that would be effectively equivalent to saving whenever you want, since you just have to turn on automatic death demos or start a demo at the beginning of every room and you'd be able to restore to any point. I think that would not be as enjoyable.

That's where we differ widely on opinion ;)

I feel that being able to save at any point makes the game more enjoyable, as the frustration and tedium level can be reduced. What about a way to turn that button on and off? Then those of us who wnat to use it, can.

Okay, the gag order has been lifted now on JtRH, and I am sure that cbemom will be happy to hear that there is indeed an Undo key for DROD 2.0! You can only undo one move, but if you're quick enough you can undo a death too.

Game on,

Yes, yes, yes!

One of the najor reasons for me joining the forum was so I could complain about the absence of an undo button.

I'm so happy.

Especially since my fingers are so clumsy.
