So I want to make a script that makes it so that a temporal split token appears in a particular place when a certain variable flag is set, but said item is not in the list of items that can be built. I know it should be possible since building them wherever the player is standing is how the main gimmic in the final level of TSS works, but I'm clearly missing something important.

You need to directly override the Build commands with _MyScriptF. Set it to -20 for Time Tokens.

Multi Use pressure plates are supposedly number 78, but I think this particular My_Script entry has been disabled in the most recent build due to potential confusion about what should happen when a new plate is built connecting two existing plates.

EDIT: Yup, it turns out that the plates never quite functioned properly in the first place, so the ability to place them with build has been removed. See this thread for details:
