Throughout everything--in the editor names, the right-click names, and the build marker names, if it's on it's called "Firetrap (active)", but if it's off it's called "Fire Trap". This is a grammatical inconsistency; are they "Fire Traps" or are they "Firetraps"? Either one is fine, I'd just like it if the game stuck to one name for them.

It's flawlessly consistent, actually. This happened during 58th Namers Naming Nomenculature Meeting, when 13th Namer got into a fight with 87th Nitpicker about 174th Archivist suggesting to 69th Librarian that 374th Scribe should not have made a typo when writing to 136 Trap Builder about trap names as suggested by 212th Archivist who was influenced by 1st Namer who was slightly tipsy during the decision making process. So when 13th Namer hit 87th Nitpicker in the head with 374th Scribe's pen 98th Conflict Preventer slipped on the aforementioned pen while walking towards 87th Nitpicker. While falling he accidentally knocked down the table set up by 42nd Drink Pourer which in turn flew two meters and landed on the notes which contained very important information from 18th Archivist about Proper Naming Procedures For Metal Traps Involving Fire And Toggleability.

So when 136th Trapbuilder labelled his traps he used different names for two types of the same trap. And because changing it would involve too much bureaucracy it was left as is.

Really? Because my EUD (Eighth Urban Dictionary) has entries that read:

Fire Trap - an inactive Firetrap, and

Firetrap - an active Fire Trap.

The space (or not) between words is a toggle indicator, maybe used in blueprints?

I'm pretty sure it should actually be TrAhP? Otherwise it's closer to 'trape' in pronunciation.

Of course spherical English differs enough from place to place, trying to perfectly map it to Sihmpuhl English is probably futile.

Marking as not a bug, because it's superseded by this thread. Enjoy the memes while I bring it back to the front page.
